BBC executives had some explaining to do when a newscast inadvertantly aired a racy sex scene on an onscreen monitor that could be seen behind the anchor’s head, as sharp-eyed viewers took to social media to point out the embarrassing gaffe.
As the Birmingham Mail reports, the “unscheduled nudity” occurred as TV presenter Sophie Raworth was delivering a story about the British cricket team’s victory over South Africa. Unbeknownst to Raworth, a screen in the background was airing an “X-rated clip in which a woman in a black top exposed her breasts to a bare-chested man.”
Upon closer examination, the topless woman who had so scandalized the news was none other than Canada’s own Anna Paquin, with the clip coming from her HBO series “True Blood”.
When she discovered that the sexy “True Blood” scene — in which she was engaging in some onscreen hanky-panky with co-star Rob Kazinskyhad — caused such a disruption during the BBC newscast, Paquin took to Twitter to profess her glee in a series of NSFW tweets.
“MY BREASTS!! SO FUNNY ON SO MANY LEVELS,” she wrote in an all-caps tweet, adding that “this some of the funniest sh*t I’ve seen in a while!!!”
She added: “Ya know you’ve made when…. your t*ts photo bomb the news at 10.”
Kazinsky joined in the fun, adding his two cents about their racy nude scene inadvertently airing during a national newscast, which somehow morphed into an odd conversation about donuts.
However, Paquin really lost it when she read that BBC was “looking into the matter,” with her husband/”True Blood” co-star Stephen Moyer chiming in as well. The ensuing conversation somehow resulting in a new hashtag: #photoboob.
