Some of Hollywood’s most buzzed about films had some very important names missing from today’s list of Golden Globe nominees! Namely, the director of one of the year’s most highly-anticipated movies Les Miserables – which is nominated for best motion picture, comedy or musical and received three other nods – Tom Hooper didn’t get a nod for best director.
And while Skyfall was a huge box office hit globally, which helped celebrate 50 years of James Bond, it was pretty much shut out of this year’s Golden Globe nominations – although the 007 flick did receive a nod for original song by Adele.
But in a shocking twist, despite a mix of hot and cold reviews and failing to perform at the box office, Salmon Fishing in the Yemen managed to get nominated for best comedy or musical picture, best actor and actress for Ewan McGregor and Emily Blunt.
And Meryl Streep continues her Golden streak, after being nominated 26 times and winning eight times, picking up a nod for her role in the slow moving dramedy Hope Springs.
