Simple and modern elegance continued to dominate on the Grammys red carpet Monday, with many beauty looks begging to be re-created at home.
While the usual smokey eye and bold lip looks dotted the star-studded event, three classic and high-impact trends caught our eye as music’s brightest stars celebrated the biggest event of the year.
1. Plumped-Up Lashes
Big and bold lashes took over the Grammys red carpet with one of the most captivating set of eyes delivered by newly-minted COVERGIRL, Zendaya.
The singer achieved a fluttery lid thanks to her go-to mascara, COVERGIRL Plumpify blastPRO, which kicked up her lashes with zero clumps in sight. The bold eye look provided just enough drama to balance the sharpness of her modern mullet haircut.
R&B singer Janelle Monae, meanwhile, followed Zendaya’s lead, showing off a mega lash line that helped her take the red carpet by storm.
2. Nude & Matte Lip
The bold lips of 2015 were traded in for the simplicity of nude and matte pouts in 2016. A myriad of stars embraced the barely-there trend, taking to the Grammys red carpet to show off a dusting of pink or a swipe of sweet caramel.
Tori Kelly, who dazzled in a gorgeous green gown, pulled off a muted beauty look using a matte shade of antique rose across her full lips. Chrissy Teigen also adopted a refined, yet au naturel look thanks to a heavy swipe of matte caramel lipstick.
Zendaya added a caramel cocktail to her own glamorous makeup using a trio of COVERGIRL essentials: “Oh Sugar Balm in Caramel, Jumbo Gloss Balm Creams in Caramel Cream.. and Queen Collection Gloss in Premier Pink,”; she shared in a pre-Grammys Instagram video.
3. Golden Corner
A final notable beauty trend that had us doing a double take was the golden touch of Meghan Trainor and Lianne La Havas. Both beauties turned to a soft dusting of gold shadow — placed in the inner corners of their eyes — for the finishing touch to their understated beauty looks.
