According to Donald Trump, everything he does is the greatest, the best and the classiest — a lack of humility that bears a striking resemblance to that of the rapper behind the self-proclaimed greatest album in history, Kanye West.
“Bad idea to teach children that there is nothing better than falling madly head over heels, leaving notes on your own windshield, in love with yourself,” said Bill Maher of Trump during Friday’s edition of his HBO talk show Real Time, pinning the rise of Trump on the self-esteem movement.
“And also anyone who doesn’t agree that you are fabulous and perfect in every way is just a hater and they can suck it,” he continued. “Sound like anyone we know? Have you noticed that nobody ever does anything better than Donald Trump?”
To demonstrate, Maher played a montage of clips featuring Trump declaring himself the “best” at all manner of things, trumpeting that he’s “better” than anyone else.
