Josh Duhamel is well known for being a romantic leading man and for taking on big action in Transformers, but this year he’s branching out.
We spoke to the star on the Winnipeg set of his upcoming independent film, Strings, where he told us this role is a departure for him: “There is no love interest… it’s a great supporting part.”;
In the film Josh plays a counsellor and he is happy to tackle the part. “It was really awesome that somebody believed I could play a counsellor. I said “Really! You think me? I shouldn’t be counselling anybody,'”; he jokes adding, “It’s nice to be able to do things outside of what… people [normally] see you as.”;
Josh is also getting ready for a new role in his private life – as a dad! He and his wife Fergie are expecting their first child! The 40-year-old says he’s been getting a lot of advice: “Everyone is saying, “You better sleep now. You’re not going to get any when the baby is here…’ I feel we are ready for it and actually looking forward to that.”;
Fergie is about seven-and-a-half months along and Josh is really looking forward to playing the part of doting dad! “I plan on taking as much time as I can off just before and as much time as possible after,”; he tells us. “I can’t imagine having a kid and then not being able to be there, that would just drive me crazy.”;
No matter where in the world work takes this famous family, Josh says the Duhamels will be sticking together: “Whether I am working, they can come with, or if she is working I can go with them… I can’t see myself ever wanting to be away from my wife and kid.”;
