Michael Fassbender covers the June issue of Esquire UK
, and “enjoying the moment” never looked so good.
Fassbender, 34, has had quite the year, becoming one of the most talked about actors of his generation. After a long list of critically acclaimed roles, including his latest character, David from the highly anticipated Ridley Scott Sci-Fi blockbuster Prometheus, the actor explains he is now on a self-imposed hiatus.
“You have to see it clearly as looking after yourself,” he tells the magazine. “There is the danger of burning out here and getting lost and just becoming uninterested.”
What’s next for the budding superstar? Fassbender is looking to develop his own material: “The next thing is to develop, make your own stories with writers, gather a pool of creative people and develop stuff. So it’s not the fact that I’m waiting for someone else to hire me or I’m waiting for a really good script to arrive, I’m actually trying to make that script.”
