People Like Us has a new sizzle reel out and it looks pretty fantastic.
The brilliant cast headed by Chris Pine, Elizabeth Banks, and Michelle Pfeiffer tells the story of a family – inspired by true events from director Alex Kurtzman’s own life – brought together by the death of their father.
Chris Pine plays Sam, a fast talking salesman whose latest deal collapses on the day his father dies and is forced to go home and put his estate in order. In the course of fulfilling his late father’s wishes, Sam reconnects with his estranged family and discovers a startling secret. He finds out he has a 30-year-old sister, played by Elizabeth Banks, whom he never knew about.
As his new sister and her son are brought into Sam’s life, he is forced to rethink everything he thought he knew about his family and re-examine his own choices in the process.
Kurtzman has been involved with many big budget blockbusters in recent years – Star Trek, Transformers and Cowboys and Aliens to name a few – People Like Us will mark a change for the producer who’s making this film his directorial debut.
People Like Us will be released in the U.S. on June 29. To hold you over, check out the sizzle reel below.
