Our Roz Weston met up with Madonna at the grand opening of Hard Candy Fitness Toronto and she didn’t hold back. The fitness buff gave our senior entertainment reporter a diagnostics test and, well, she thinks he has some work to do.
“You need to work out!” she told him after feeling his flexed arm. “I’m not into big bulky muscles, but a little more definition would be good.”
She further explained: “I like a lean, mean, fighting machine!”
Madonna, 55, not only works it out in the gym, she worked it in a sexy black lace number by dsquared2 teamed with heels on the red carpet at the opening event.
Sporting a tensor bandage for a current injury – a sore left foot injured during a dance routine – though, she admits, “sneakers don’t look good with a skirt, so I’m suffering right now.”
And despite Madonna’s insanely fit figure, the songstress admits she is like “most girls” when it comes to her body image. “I have a love/hate relationship with my body,” she says. “Some days I’m happy with it and other days… I wasn’t born with Gisele Bundchen’s body unfortunately, so you got to work for it – but it’s okay.”
Roz also got the inside scoop on what’s on Madonna’s iPod and you might be surprised to learn that not one of her own songs is on her playlist. “I don’t work out to my music – I hate my music!” she says candidly. “I mean, I’m sick of it.”
She corrects herself, “I love my music, but I’m just kind of sick of it. I like to hear other people’s music when I work out.”
