NBC has enlisted Canadians Rachelle Lefevre and Missy Peregrym for roles in the season-four finale of “The Night Shift”. According to THR, Lefevre is set to take on the part of Major Natasha Anthony, while Peregrym is expected to play ranger Reagan. Both roles are said to be open-ended arcs, leaving the opportunity for both actresses to return if the medical drama is renewed for a fifth season.

Inspired by Fauna Hodel’s autobiography, the series tells the story of a white female who was abandoned by her teenage mother and subsequently raised by an African-American family. She later learned that she was the product of incest, and that her biological father was thought to be the Black Dahlia killer.
Tom Hardy To Produce And Star In ‘My War Gone By, I Miss It So’
Tom Hardy has signed on to star and produce the Bosnian war film, “My War Gone By, I Miss It So”. Based on war correspondent Anthony Lloyd’s 1999 autobiography, the film is his “personal account of the Bosnian War, and alternates between his experiences in Bosnia and personal reflections of his time in the British army, his parents’ divorce, his estrangement from his father, and his heroin addiction.”
“I was struck by Anthony’s work and words, experiences,” Hardy said, "…and for me his is an important voice and an important book.”
Maria Bello Joining 'NCIS'
There's a fresh face joining the "NCIS" team for its 15th season, and it belongs to new series regular Maria Bello. Bello, who was recently seen co-starring with Billy Bob Thornton in the Amazon drama "Goliath", will play an NCIS agent who “was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the army and served two tours in Afghanistan," explains the character description. "After joining NCIS, she built her reputation as the agency’s premier forensic psychologist. Unlike the other agents, she can second guess and challenge Gibbs (Mark Harmon), so there will be friction but also mutual respect. She is a positive force, mischievous and at times acerbic.”
In a joint statement, co-showrunners George Schenck and Frank Cardea said: “We have always been big fans of Maria Bello’s work and are excited to be introducing her as an agent who not only has a distinct talent, but also a unique relationship with Gibbs.” "NCIS" airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Global, with episodes airing in the fall.

Showtime has placed a pilot order for "City on a Hill", a new crime drama set in Boston in the early 1990s, from exec producers Matt Damon and ben Affleck. "The drama is a fictional account of what was called the 'Boston Miracle' and centres on an African-American District Attorney who comes in from Brooklyn advocating change and the unlikely alliance he forms with a corrupt yet venerated FBI veteran who is invested in maintaining the status quo," reports Deadline. "Together they take on a family of armoured car robbers from Charlestown in a case that grows to encompass and eventually upend Boston’s city-wide criminal justice system."
