Filmmaker Bryan Singer took to Twitter on Thursday to make a pretty major announcement.

Bryan, who produced X-men films First Class and directed Days of Future Past has sent X-men fans into a frenzy!
It is rumoured that Apocalypse will hit theatres May 27, 2016.
More details about the 2006 instalment are non-existent but from Bryan’s Twitter announcement and his history with the X-men franchise it’s safe to say that he’ll be directing the Apocalypse release as well.
The next X-men film Days of the Future Past is slated for a May 23, 2014 release date. Watch the trailer below.
