Stop us if you’ve heard this one before: Miley Cyrus, Canadian hero astronaut Chris Hadfield and a Norwegian fox walk into YouTube…

The mega-popular video site revealed this year’s most watched videos and the results suggest that Canadians are really into pop stars riding construction equipment and Bowie covers performed in outer space.

The obscenely popular Miley Cyrus promo for “Wrecking Ball”; was the most watched music video in Canada. The ultra meme-friendly video beat out PSY’s “Gentleman”; and Miley’s “We Can’t Stop”; clips for the honour. The Canadian music video we watched the most this year was Drake’s “Started from the Bottom”; promo.

In the most watched cover songs category, we viewed Chris Hadfield’s outer space rendition of David Bowie’s “Space Oddity”; more than any other cover clip this year. (To be fair, it’s a bit difficult to compete with an astronaut with a clever choice of tune.)

As for “non major label”; videos, the viral sensation that is “The Fox (What Does The Fox Say?)”; by Norwegian comedy duo Ylvis scored the title of Canada’s most watched clip.

Kudos to all the winners and good luck getting the hook from “The Fox”; out of your head.
