As a Broadway actor, Josh Gad has little left to accomplish. Book of Mormon, in which he played co-lead, was one of the biggest hits in Broadway history, winning nine Tony awards, one Grammy, and selling a record number of albums. After a success like that, what else is there left to do?

What else but go on a three-hour tour?

After memorable supporting roles in Love & Other Drugs, Jobs, and The Internship, Gad has landed his first lead role on the big screen in the Warner Bros. reboot of Gilligan’s Island, Deadline is reporting. Gad will also co-write the script alongside Benji Samit and Dan Hernandez.

It’s unclear at this point which character Gad will play, but Deadline suspects that it will either be Gilligan or The Skipper.

Gad will also play comedian Sam Kinison in the biopic Kinison, to be directed by Borat filmmaker Larry Charles.

Neither film currently has a release date.
