Good Morning America host, Robin Roberts, thanked her girlfriend for supporting her during her battle with a rare blood disorder–and effectively came out of the closet in the process.
“I am grateful for my entire family, my long time girlfriend, Amber, and friends as we prepare to celebrate a glorious new year together,”; she wrote on her Facebook wall referring to her partner Amber Laign, a licensed massage therapist.
The posting marked a milestone for Robin who was diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome last year. With her sister Sally-Ann as her donor, Robin was able to undergo a successful bone marrow transplant.
“I am grateful for my sister, Sally-Ann, for being my donor and giving me the gift of life,”; she wrote in the note. She concluded by thanking her many supporters and wishing everyone a healthy and happy New Year: “Peace, love, and blessings to all..XO.”;
