For over 27 years, Ed The Sock has been “telling it like it is.” And for the first time EVER – the man behind Canada’s most opinionated puppet is ready to step into the spotlight!
When ET Canada sat down with Ed’s “other half” he told us: “When I started doing Ed it was done pretty much as a gag… I did not want people to know who I am… And I realized as more and more people found this fun, that there could be life in this.”
It turned out audiences and celebrities loved Ed’s outspoken personality. Everyone from Christina Aguilera, to Lenny Kravitz, to Destiny’s Child, opened up about their lives to Ed. His creator jokes: “Many celebrities would treat Ed like a fellow celebrity and me like Ed’s person. As if I was his assistant, or entourage, or something.”
“I have kept myself removed from photographs and Ed’s life as much as possible. I think now Ed is so alive and so ingrained in Canadian culture… I don’t think anymore that it would violate people’s view of Ed. I think maybe it just might deepen it.”
