Whereas most of the pre-Oscar awards shows this year have either given their top prizes to Gravity or 12 Years a Slave, the Producers Guild of America seems to have had a hard time picking between the two, and so the organization decided to give their prestigious Daryl F. Zanuck award to both movies. It was the first tie in the 25 year history of the PGAs.

“[It was] a legitimate mathematical numerical tie—but it was the producers who told me so,” joked Ben Affleck, who presented the award. The Producers Guild has over 6000 members. The voting tally is not disclosed to the public.

Other winners include Frozen (best animated film), Breaking Bad (best TV drama), Modern Family (best TV comedy), We Steal Secrets: The Story of WikiLeaks (best documentary), and Behind the Candelabra (best TV movie).

Previous recipients of the Daryl F. Zanuck award include Argo, The Artist, The King’s Speech, The Hurt Locker, Slumdog Millionaire, and No Country For Old Men—all of which went on to win the best picture Oscar.
