Victor Garber On His Key Role In ‘Sleepy Hollow’ Finale

By Brent Furdyk.

Canadian acting icon Victor Garber continues to be a constant presence on TV, and his latest character will play a pivotal role in tonight’s season finale of Sleepy Hollow: the father of out-of-time hero Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison).

“I just did a one-shot thing and played [Ichabod’s] father in a weird purgatory-type scene,”; Garber tells ET Canada. “It was fun, I had a really good time.”;

Garber’s appearance on Sleepy Hollow reunites him with the former producers of Alias, on which Garber starred alongside Jennifer Garner for five seasons (Sleepy Hollow, like Alias, is produced by J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot, and created by former Alias exec producers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci).

It’s a wonderful show and a big success,”; says Garber of Sleepy Hollow, “and my friend Ken Olin is the showrunner and the fellas who created it, Kurtzman and Orci, are old friends from the Alias days.”;

Although playing Ichabod’s dad is a one-time guest spot, Garber tells ET Canada he’s ready to reprise the role if need be. “There’s a possibility I would do more episodes if they find a way to bring back that father,”; he says.

In addition, the always-busy actor will soon be seen on Global’s upcoming comedy Working the Engels, starring SCTV comedy legend Andrea Martin. Without giving away the storyline, Garber does reveal that his appearance on the show was “very challenging and fun to do.”;

You can catch Victor Garber’s interview on tonight’s edition of ET Canada, airing at 7:30 p.m. EST/PST on Global TV.

The two-hour season finale of Sleepy Hollow airs tonight, Monday Jan. 2o on Global TV.
