By Sylvia Ogweng.

Beyonce is lending a hand to those affected by the water crisis in Flint, Michigan.

The “Formation” singer has helped raise over $82,000 for the residents of the city, who continue to deal with lead contamination in their water supply.

The singer’s entertainment and management company, Parkwood Entertainment, presented the United Way of Genesee County with an $82,234 contribution on Monday.

The funds were raised by fans who chose to contribute to the Flint fund while purchasing tickets to her “Formation” tour.

A portion of the money will also be donated to 14 Detroit-area high school students, who were hand selected to receive “college gifts” as well as tickets to her Tuesday night concert at Ford Field.
