Could the time-traveling adventures of Marty McFly and Doc Brown continue on stage at London’s West End?

That’s the plan for a new Broadway-style musical based on the 1985 blockbuster in which Michael J. Fox starred as a 1980s teen who journeys back to 1955 thanks to the Doc’s (Christopher Lloyd) tricked-out DeLorean.

Producers of the upcoming musical announced Thursday night the show would open in London’s West End sometime in 2015, with a potential run on Broadway if all goes according to plan.

The musical, reports The Associated Press, will include a book by BttF director Robert Zemeckis, Bob Gale and Jamie Lloyd, with original music from composer Alan Silvestri. Back to the Future is the latest movie to be adapted from screen to stage, a trend that has already brought theatergoers such musicals as Ghost, Flashdance, Dirty Dancing, Big, The Addams Family, Legally Blonde, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and Elf.
