The Dixie Chicks paid tribute to the victims of the Orlando massacre during their Madison Square Garden tour stop on Monday night.
Dedicating their cover of Ben Harper’s “Better Way” to the 49 people who lost their lives, Natalie Maines told the crowd, “we cannot let the hatred and the anger win out.”
She added, “we gotta put positivity out there in the universe.”

The showed their solidarity with the LGBTQ community by performing the moving song in front of a rainbow-coloured heart.
The country ladies also addressed the shooting on Twitter, writing, “Our hearts and thoughts go out to the friends and families who have lost their loved ones to violence in Orlando this week. It’s so important during these times to stay united as people against this misguided hatred. #Peaceandlovepeaceandlove.”
