Warner Bros. has a feature-length, live-action Tarzan movie in the works, and there’s already a release date to mark on your calendars: July 1, 2016. The 3D (of course) action-adventure flick will sidestep the campiness often associated with the franchise, opting instead for a top-notch director and cast. Here’s who’s on board:

Alexander Skarsgård (HBO’s True Blood) as the title character, a man raised by apes in the jungles of equatorial Africa. The gorgeous Margot Robbie – who earned some serious cred for her role in The Wolf of Wall Street – will play Jane Porter, Tarzan’s love interest.

Rounding things out: Oscar nominee – and all-around badass dude – Samuel L. Jackson, and two-time Oscar winner Christoph Waltz (Inglourious Basterds, Django Unchained).

Warner Bros. has also locked in some serious might behind the camera, tapping David Yates to direct. As the man who helmed the last four Harry Potter movies, David is definitely no stranger to sprawling epics.

Best of all, the screenplay will be strongly based on the works of Edgar Rice Burroughs, the literary icon who penned the original series of Tarzan books a hundred years ago. Bring on the monkey man!
