CeeLo Green won’t be returning to The Voice, announcing on today’s Ellen DeGeneres Show that he’s done with NBC’s hit singing competition — but not necessarily with NBC.
“I’m going to continue my relationship with NBC,”; CeeLo told Ellen during an appearance today alongside Lionel Richie. “I have a television show development deal with them and hopefully some other talk show opportunities for later in the year. But yeah, I’m going to miss The Voice too. I’m not coming back guys….”;
Ellen seemed taken aback by the news, exclaiming: “Oh, you’re not coming back at all?”;
“I’m not coming back at all,”; declared CeeLo. “I just don’t want to wear out my welcome there, you know what I’m saying? I have so many other things that I want to do. I haven’t released an album in four years. I’m almost done with my album…”;
He added, “I didn’t mean to drop the bomb today.”;
In the meantime, CeeLo will be hitting the road to join Lionel Richie on his “All Night Long”; tour throughout North America.
NBC has yet to comment on CeeLo’s announcement.
