ET Canada

It’s Arnold Schwarzenegger Vs. Zombies In ‘Maggie’

By Craig Macrae.

Emotional, crying and heartbroken! It’s Arnold Schwarzenegger like you have never seen him before. ET Canada was the only show invited to his New Orleans set for the much anticipated zombie thriller “Maggie”;.

But unlike “The Walking Dead” or “28 Days Later”, this film is more about Arnold’s daughter, played by Abigail Breslin, as she slowly changes from a young girl to a zombie.

A fact that even brought Arnold to tears, saying “the audience will be crying in the theatre watching her go through this, this decay of her body, decline of her spirit and everything.  When you are 30-years-old you don’t want to be seen crying, you’re too macho and stuff like that. So I think this movie came at the perfect time… I don’t think I would have been able to do that 30 years ago.”;

In the film Arnold tries to keep his daughter away from “the law,”; but as the virus spreads across the world, anyone who is infected is supposed to be put into quarantine… yet Arnold doesn’t want to give Abigail up.

“It’s the person you love more than anyone in the world,” he explains. “It’s about this trauma that this farmer that I play goes through. His wife has passed away, now he’s married a second time. It lends itself to a great challenge acting-wise, because it’s very little action but it’s a very dramatic piece.”;
