For the first time in over five years, Trisha Yearwood is back on tour and ready to rock.
The country superstar opened up to People about her upcoming string of solo live shows, a series of concerts that will take place before the singer teams with her hubby Garth Brooks for a set of highly anticipated summer shows.
The “How Do I Live”; hitmaker revealed that she’s getting back in the swing of performing regular concerts for one simple reason: “Just because.”;
“I’m actually calling it my “just because’ tour,”; the singer told the mag. “When Garth and I started talking about touring together [this summer], I realized that as much fun as those arena shows are going to be, I really have a special place in my heart for theaters and intimate shows.”;
“I didn’t know when I’d get a chance to do them, and this is kind of a window,”; admitted Yearwood. “I just asked my agent to see if anyone might want to book a show. Just because I really wanted to!”;
Yearwood also shed some light on whether or not we can expect a new album from her anytime soon.
“It might not be out this year, but my goal is to try and get it done by early summer,”; declared the entertainer regarding her long awaited follow-up to 2007’s Heaven, Heartache and the Power of Love. “I just put it on the backburner and it needs to be focused on.”;
Yearwood’s solo tour kicks off tonight in Fort Lauderdale. The trek features two Canadian dates, plunking the singer in Windsor on Apr. 11 and Orillia on Apr. 12.
