Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are to receive the CinemaCon Comedy Filmmakers of the Year Award at this year’s CinemaCon, Mitch Neuhauser, Managing Director of CinemaCon, announced today.

The award will be given out on March 27 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

Rogen and Goldberg, both born in Vancouver, are best known as the duo behind such hit comedies as Superbad, Pineapple Express, and This Is the End.

“As writers, producers and directors, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg have teamed up to bring audiences around the world some of the most outrageously, insanely funny comedies in recent years. Just take this past summer’s box-office smash This Is the End. Do I need to say more?”; said Neuhauser. “When these two team up, hilarity and box-office success ensue. CinemaCon could not be more thrilled to honour these two talented filmmakers with its 2014 Comedy Filmmakers of the Year Award.”;

CinemaCon is the official convention of The National Association of Theatre Owners (NATO), and is expected to attract upwards of 5,000 industry professionals.

Rogen and Goldberg currently have three projects in various stages of development: Neighbours, a comedy about a couple who are forced to live next to a frat house, The Interview, a comedy about an entertainment reporter who is recruited by the CIA to assassinate Kim Jong-Un, and Sausage Party, an animated film about a group of sausages who escape from a supermarket.
