Shania Twain is gearing up to hit the East Coast for the first time in — get this — fifteen years! That’s right, the reclusive Canadian pop/country icon will perform at the Charlottetown Events Grounds on August 30.

It typically takes a big occasion to bring the media-shy Shania into the spotlight, and rest assured, this is one of ’em. Specifically, the 150th anniversary of the Charlottetown Conference that led to Canadian Confederation in 1867.

“I am looking forward to returning to Atlantic Canada after 15 years and playing Charlottetown and P.E.I. for the first time,” Shania said in a press statement. “I’m so excited to participate in this very special anniversary event.”

Tickets go on sale March 7, so mark the date in your calendar, super-fans.
