Production of Fast & Furious 7, which was put on a lengthy hiatus following the death of Paul Walker in November, is set to resume in April.

Universal now hopes to have the film in theatres for April 10, 2015, which leaves director James Wan exactly one year to complete the project.

The remaining scenes are expected to take six to eight weeks to film.

According The Hollywood Reporter, the filmmakers will work around Walker’s absence by “retiring”; his character rather than by killing him off.

The film was reportedly halfway through production when Walker’s Porsche crashed into a tree at 100mph, killing him and his friend Roger Rodas.
