South Korea Goes ‘Frozen’ Crazy With K-Pop Covers of ‘Let It Go’

Idina Menzel’s name is causing a stir worldwide and so is her Oscar-winning Frozen single Let It Go.  The Disney animated film just hit the $1 billion mark for worldwide box office and has fans in South Korea going crazy.

Not only has the adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen’s The Snow Queen  grossed more than $75 million, and the song topped the charts in the country, countless K-Pop stars have been so inspired by the princess adventure, they’ve released their own versions of the song on YouTube.

The official Korean version by Hyolyn of Sistar, has been seen over 7 million times on YouTube, but other versions are creating just as much buzz.

Voice Korea Season 1  winner, Sonnet Son’s emotional version has had over 2.8 million hits.

While an instrumental version by YouTube star and guitarist  Jung Sungha has over 2.1 million views.

Believe it or not, even a fan generated video of figure skating star Kim Yu-na’s 2010 Olympic gold-winning program set to  Let It Go has close to 700,000 views.

And if you still can’t get enough of the Disney song, The Hollywood Reporter has compiled even more versions.
