First making her mark on the big screen in Beasts of the Southern Wild in 2012, Quvenzhané Wallis is back singing her way onto the silver screen this year in the “Annie”; remake.

Out in theatres December 19, 2014, if the charming new trailer is anything to go by, it looks like the movie could turn Wallis into the biggest child star since Daniel Radcliffe, Haley Joel Osment or the original red-headed “Annie”; starlet, Aileen Quinn.

Wallis is joined by Cameron Diaz, who plays Miss Hannigan – the owner of Annie’s orphanage – and Jamie Foxx, who plays a Michael Bloomberg-like billionaire who adopts Annie in order to boost his chances in New York’s mayoral election.

The movie is co-produced by Jay Z, who famously sampled the musical’s standout number “Hard Knock Life”; in one of his biggest hits.
