Taking home some major hardware at the Canadian Screen Awards, presented on Sunday night at the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts, was TV series “Orphan Black”;, the coming-of-age drama “Gabrielle”; and Jason Priestley’s TV comedy “Call Me Fitz”;.

Priestley’s dark TV comedy scored in a host of comedy categories, including best TV comedy and best actress in a TV comedy for Tracy Dawson.  The former “Beverly Hills, 90210″ star picked up his first Canadian Screen Award for his starring role as a morally questionable used-car salesman.

“This is totally unexpected and really appreciated,”; he declared accepting his award.”;I have to thank the greatest cast of actors I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with in my life.”;

Sitting down with Cheryl Hickey in the ET Canada backstage lounge, Priestley shared a little secret about his now award-winning role.  “I think a lot of people thought they wrote that part for me and then just offered it, but they didn’t,”; he says.  Adding, “I had to go fight for [this] part, I had to go get the part.”;

“Orphan Black”; also added best dramatic series and best actress in a TV drama for star Tatiana Maslany, to eight other awards won previously in the week at the CSAs. “This is such an honour for me to be here tonight and nominated opposite so many incredible actresses,”; the Regina actress told the crowd as she accepted her CSA award.

Backstage, Maslany, who also guest-starred on the popular comedy “Parks and Recreation”; last year told Cheryl about her whirlwind year.  “It’s a bit wild,”; she says adding, “but for me it’s always about going back to work and forgetting all the noise on the outside and just doing what I love and what I’ve been doing since I was a kid.”;
