Queens of the Stone Age Frontman Explains His “F**k The Grammys” Comment

A quick refresher on Josh Homme’s recent antics. Earlier this year, the Queens of the Stone Age singer/guitarist helped close out the Grammy Awards, rocking out alongside veterans Trent Reznor, Dave Grohl, and Lindsey Buckingham.

Alas, producers cut to commercials partway through their song, a move that didn’t sit well with Josh. Particularly after he lost the Best Rock Performance award to Imagine Dragons earlier in the show.

While playing in Houston a couple of weeks later, Josh certainly didn’t mince words about that fateful evening, yelling out, “F**k everything. F**k the man. F**k Imagine Dragons and f**k the Grammys!”;

That sentiment seemed pretty clear, no? Well, fast-forward several weeks and Josh has had a slight change of heart. In a new fan Q&A by FasterLouder, the singer claims his Houston meltdown was, you know, taken out of context.

“I got misunderstood for something I said when I was reacting to someone in the audience recently,”; Josh claims, noting he was also “really drunk”; that evening. Well, that settles that. As to whether he’d consider performing at the Grammys ever again? “If they got their sh*t together, maybe,”; he says.
