Divergent star Kate Winslet visits The Ellen DeGeneres Show today, and the first topic of conversation was yesterday’s L.A. earthquake — which Kate admits is the first she ever experienced.
Kate also discusses why her husband legally changed his last name to Rocknroll and why they named their baby Bear Blaze.
“A friend of mine when I was younger was nicknamed Bear, and I had just always really loved it,”; Kate tells Ellen. “He was everyone’s shoulder to cry on, he was a big bear hug, he was just this great figure in my life. And I had just always remembered it.”;
As for Blaze, Kate explains that she and her husband were vacationing — separately — in the British Virgin Islands when a house caught fire and led them to meet. “My husband and I met in a house fire, basically,” Winslet says of how she and husband Ned Rocknroll first met. “We wanted something off the fire, so Blaze was the name we came up with.”
In addition, Kate also talks about recently being honoured with her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame — which just happens to be next to Ellen’s star!
