By gum, it’s been a while, but a celebrity feud’s a brewin’. And this time around it’s all about tiny timepieces. Introducing your cast of characters: Anger Management star Charlie Sheen and pop icon John Mayer.
Here’s the lowdown: John’s an avid watch collector. High-end Rolexes, primarily (one can assume Rolexes are pretty much all high-end). And recently, he filed suit against watch dealer Robert Maron, claiming he was sold a number of counterfeit items.
Serendipity being what it is, Charlie is a good pal of Mr. Maron. And he doesn’t exactly cotton to such allegations. End result: he’s called John out on Twitter with the following message:
“Mr Mayer needs to park that milk toast (sic) girlie drivel he calls muzak & leave the Patek/Rolex prowess to the best watch expert alive.”
Zing! Will John respond in kind, or let the whole thing go? Stay tuned.
By the way, Maron’s lawyers say the singer is no stranger to willingly buying bogus watches. In fact, they note John once posted on a Rolex message board, saying he was looking to purchase the Flat Dial model even though it contained “counterfeit”; parts. The plot thickens…
