According to a report in The New York Daily News, Universal plans to finish Paul Walker’s remaining scenes in Fast & Furious 7 by adding a CGI likeness of Paul Walker’s face to the body of a stand-in.
“They have hired four actors with bodies very similar to Paul’s physique and they will be used for movement and as a base,” a source close to the film told the publication. “Paul’s face and voice will be used on top using CGI.”
This is more or less the same approach that Ridley Scott used to finish Gladiator after Oliver Reed died in the middle of production.
Universal has confirmed that Paul Walker will be featured in the seventh instalment, but have not specified how they intend to work around the actor’s death.
Fast & Furious 7 is currently filming in downtown Atlanta. Universal hopes to have the film in theatres on April 10, 2015.
