Former Veronica Mars star Enrico Colantoni heads the cast of Remedy, but this week’s edition of Global’s hit medical drama is a very special one for the Toronto-born actor — not only does he act, he also pulls double duty as director.
“I’ve directed before,”; Enrico tells ET Canada, “but I’ve never done a whole episode.”;
While TV actors branching out to direct episodes is nothing new, he explains that with a U.S. series, actors typically “don’t get to direct an episode until season three or four.”; Being invited to direct an episode of Remedy in its first season “is beyond generous,”; he says, “beyond complimentary.”;
In Remedy, Enrico stars as Dr. Allen Conner, Acting Chief of Staff of Bethune General Hospital, where all his children are employed — one as a surgeon, one as a nurse and one as an orderly. Having starred in several long-running series (Veronica Mars, Just Shoot Me and Flashpoint), Enrico has been around the block enough times to know that a TV series needs time to evolve, and he’s enthusiastic about what’s in store for the rest of Remedy“s debut season.
“No TV show finds their sea legs in one episode,”; he says. “Maybe after 30 episodes…”;
You can catch more of Remedy“s Enrico Colantoni’s interview in tonight’s edition of ET Canada, airing at 7:30 p.m. ET/PT on Global.
Remedy airs Mondays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Global.
