He’s sure come a long way from his High School Musical days. Say hello to Zac Efron: lawyer. Well, so to speak. The 26-year-old actor has signed on to star in the big-screen adaptation of John Grisham’s legal thriller, The Associate.
The story: blackmailed by criminals, a Yale Law School grad (played by Zac), finds himself forced to spy on the world’s largest legal firm. High-stakes intrigue indeed! Trivia: The Associate was originally purchased by Paramount back in 2008, with Shia LaBeouf attached as the lead.
In addition to starring in the film, Zac will co-produce through his Ninja’s Runnin Wild company. How’s that for a shrewd business practice?
Zac seems to be enjoying a career resurgence of late, by the way. In addition to his recent comedy, That Awkward Moment (also produced by Ninja’s Runnin Wild), he’ll next be seen opposite Seth Rogen in Neighbors.
