In a recent monologue, late-night funnyman Jimmy Kimmel quipped that Toronto’s scandal-magnet Mayor Rob Ford should “do a reality show: Here Comes Mayor Boo Boo.”;

But could Jimmy’s joke be closer to reality than we realized?

It sure could, as The Globe and Mail is reporting that Ford was approached by a production company about a potential reality show during his trip to Los Angeles last month to appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

According to the story, Pilgrim Studios — the company behind reality hits such as Dirty Jobs, American Chopper and Ghost Hunters — approached Ford’s rep about the possibility of creating a reality show around the mayor, whose tendency to smoke crack, threaten murder and speak in a faux Jamaican accent during his frequent drunken stupors may be a liability in politics, but is pure reality-show gold.

BILL CLINTON: ROB FORD HAS “DESTROYED’ EVERY CANADIAN STEREOTYPE

In fact, The Globe and Mail claims to have an email sent from Pilgrim Studios to the mayor’s then-spokesman, reading: “I’m writing because I’m interested in speaking with you and Mayor Ford about the possibility of developing an unscripted television project together.”;

Although reps for Pilgrim were unavailable to either confirm or deny, this report is in line with earlier statements made by Ford’s brother, Councilor Doug Ford, who in November bragged to The National Post that he had been contacted by “everyone from Oprah to Dr. Phil… you name the person, we’ve got calls from them. There’s a massive market in the U.S.”;

Stay tuned to find out if Mayor Boo Boo will become TV’s next reality-show train wreck.
