Not only will it be a historic year for Canadian films at next month’s Cannes Film Festival, it will also be a historic year for films starring Robert Pattinson. The Twilight heartthrob, it was announced today, will be in two movies that will screen at the festival: David Cronenberg’s Map to the Stars (which will be part of the main competition) and David Michod’s Rover (which will be part of the Midnight Screenings program).
To coincide with the Cannes announcement, the producers of Rover have released a new trailer, and it looks exactly like the sort of movie that would do well at Cannes—dark, brooding, minimalistic, and full of enigmatic references to Irish poet William Butler Yeats.
The Cannes Film Festival starts May 14.
