In the newest clip from The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield) takes a break from trying to capture Rhino (Paul Giamatti), who is recklessly barrelling through the streets of Manhattan in a truck containing stolen plutonium, in order to save the life of Max (Jamie Foxx), an OsCorp scientist who has dropped some blueprints on the street.

It turns out to be one of the biggest mistakes Spider-Man’s has ever made. By saving his life, Spider-Man gives Max the opportunity to continue with his experiments, which eventually transform into the supervillain Electro, one of Spider-Man’s most formidable opponents.

In retrospect, things would have been a lot easier for Spider-Man had he simply let Rhino crash into Max.
