Criss Angel Says His Two-Year-Old Son’s Cancer Is In Remission: ‘I Believe He Will Be Healed’

By Cat Williams.

Criss Angel has been hoping for a miracle since his two-year-old son, Johnny Sarantakos, was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia last October – and it seems his prayers have finally been answered.

“Johnny is technically in remission, thank God,” the famed illusionist reveals to Us Weekly. “I believe he will be healed.”

While the 48-year-old magician’s son with his ex-wife Shaynyl Benson seems to be getting better, Angel says his son is still undergoing intense chemotherapy treatments, blood transfusions and spinal taps in Australia, where he lives with his mom.

“What doctors found is you have to continue treatment to kill all the cells, as there is no guarantee,” the Las Vegas performer explains.

Since his son’s diagnosis, Angel has become a champion for cancer research. His “Heal Every Possible Life” benefit show and auction at the Luxor will aim to raise $1 million to help fund research for cures for pediatric cancer. The event will feature performances and appearances by Cirque Du Soleil, Blue Man Group, Wayne Newton, Jerry Lewis and many more.

Angel previously shared a touching photo of his son to his Instagram, promoting the event, captioning the photo: “Our brave strong boy going through what no child should ever have to.”
