Pick up your keyboards and call the cavalry, Billy Eichner is pulling no punches after accusing Ross Mathews of stealing his shtick for a Capital One commercial.

Eichner says the E! personality copied his “Billy On The Street” interview style, and called him on it via Twitter: “Yet another Billy on the street ripoff… I usually ignore but this one is SHAMELESS and PATHETIC. (And not funny).”

The Emmy-nominated comedian went straight for the jugular, tweeting at the “Hello Ross” host directly: “Hey @CapitalOne & @helloross – don’t steal from my f–king show. This is stolen intellectual property. F–K YOU. #GoodbyeRoss.”

Mathews would not go down without a fight, however: “@billyeichner Are you serious? I’ve been doing man on the street interviews since 2001. I’ve never even seen your stuff. Bless your heart.”

Eichner was very confident of his accusations, firing back at Mathews: “@helloross Perhaps u didn’t but ur new friends @CapitalOne certainly did as they reached out to my agents about this campaign. HAPPY PRIDE,” he quipped.

The “Billy on the Street” host has acted in similar commercials for Verizon. During a campaign in 2014, Eichner ran around the streets asking pedestrians which network they preferred. Ross, to his credit, regularly performed man-on-the-street interviews during his run on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno”, when he was known as Ross the Intern.

And that was a fact Mathews was all too happy to share: “”@billyeichner accuses me of stealing man on the street segments from him, but I started doing it on TV 15 years ago. Do the math.”

Things between the two seemingly died down after one last tweet from each party: “Life is short and I will not be getting into a Twitter feud with ROSS THE INTERN of all people,” Eichner concluded.

Mathews responded: “No feud. Just responding to you. I came before you. I agree you’re funnier, but you’re also a d–k.”
