Gladys Knight’s Son Arrested On Charges Of Tax Evasion

The son of singer Gladys Knight will be taking the midnight train to jail after he was arrested on charges of tax evasion stemming from his restaurant chain (named after his famous mom), Gladys Knight’s Chicken & Waffles.

According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Shanga Hankerson, son of the legendary R&B singer, was booked into Clayton County jail in Atlanta early Wednesday morning, facing two counts of felony theft by taking in approximately $52,600 in sales tax that, a Georgia Department of Revenue investigator alleges, was never sent to the state.
