“Dear sorry body-shamers, I looked HOT in that dress. And if you hate it, don’t buy it. But please get a hobby. XOXO Ariel #EmbraceYourBody,” the 18-year-old actress tweeted on Wednesday.
Winter shared a photo from her graduation party on Instagram earlier this week, where she rocked a form-fitting, pink cut-out dress that showed quite a bit of skin.
After posting the pic, Winter faced a lot of blowback from haters who took her to task for wearing a dress they found to be inappropriately revealing and others who bashed the teenage graduate’s body and figure.
It seems that Winter isn’t letting her detractors keep her from loving herself and how she looks. She also tweeted out a pic of herself in a white midriff-baring top and some skin-tight jeans, writing in the caption, “Embrace all that you are. Don’t let those outside voices become your inner voice #mychoice #loveyourcurves.”
Winter followed that up with an inspirational message written by her friend and assistant, Davina Adjani, about how challenging it can be to remember your value “in a day [and] age in which Photoshop is there to remind you how you are not so-called perfect.”
“Know your value. Remember who you are. Love yourself. You’re perfect,” Winter wrote alongside Adjani’s inspirational words. “#stoptheshaming.”
This isn’t the first time the celebrated actress has had to shut down body shamers and critics. Winter spoke with ET in March where she defended the gown she wore at the SAG Awards in January, which showed off her scars from the breast reduction surgery she underwent last year.
“If I didn’t think about them myself, clearly I’m not ashamed of them. I don’t know why anybody would be. They’re not going away,” Winter explained. Check out the video below to hear more from the outspoken star.
