Will Ferrell To Reboot ‘The Flintstones’ In New Animated Movie

Yabba Dabba Doo! Television’s favourite modern Stone Age family is making a comeback, courtesy of Will Ferrell and writing partner Adam McKay.

As reported by Variety, the Anchorman duo have signed on to write and produce a new animated flick for Warner Bros., with Chris Henchy (Entourage) also joining the writing team.

The animated primetime hit, which debuted back in 1960, has been brought to the big screen before, with John Goodman and Rick Moranis tackling the roles of Fred and Barney in a 1994 live-action movie, while Mark Addy (Game of Thrones) and Stephen Baldwin played the cavemen neighbours in the 2000 sequel Viva Rock Vegas.

Most recently, in 2011 Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane announced plans to reboot The Flintstones as a new animated series, but later admitted he had too many projects on his plate and The Flintstones fell by the wayside.
