Five Dallas Police Officers Killed At Black Lives Matter Protest

Five Dallas police officers have been killed and several others wounded during a shooting at a Black Lives Matter protest in Dallas on Thursday.

In a statement released by Chief Brown, the Dallas Police Department explained that “two snipers shot 10 police officers from elevated positions during the protest, rally” and “an intensive search for suspects is currently underway.”

Since the initial statement was released, it was confirmed that an additional officer was killed and three suspects were taken into custody, in addition to one other suspect being “neutralized” by police.

One of the officers killed is reportedly Patrick Zamarripa, who tweeted this photo (pictured in the middle) of Cuba Gooding Jr. in February.
