Shaw Mendes fans vented their frustrations on Twitter after the singer’s “Today” show concert was postponed due to continued coverage of Thursday’s Dallas shooting.

Although it seemed as though Mendes would perform as planned since he teased his performance in the early morning, his segment was cut as the show went live in Dallas for a press conference.

Angry fans quickly sent the term “ShawnMendesTODAY” trending on Twitter after venting their anger in tweets. “okay I get this [is] important but We’re not gonna get to see it,” @citybiebs tweeted.

@sparklestylelin also said: “I didn’t get up at 6 to have Shawn be cut off 4 minutes before his performance.”

Shawn would go on to perform for fans in Rockefeller Plaza, but it remained unclear whether footage from the performance would make it to air.

“Today” would eventually address the barrage of complaints by posting footage of Mendes’ entire performance on their website. “Our @ShawnMendes concert was pre-empted for a special report. East Coast viewers can watch on http://TODAY.com. #ShawnMendesTODAY,” the show tweeted.
