Mo’Nique Says Open Marriage Was Her Idea: ‘I Wanted To Be Open And Honest’

Mo’Nique is coming clean about her open marriage with her husband, actor and producer Sidney Hicks.

After revealing that she and her husband of almost 10 years take part in an open marriage on the couple’s podcast “Mo’Nique & Sidney’s Open Relationship”, many people criticized the Oscar-winning actress for her decision, arguing Mo’Nique allowed her husband to engage in other relationships in order to keep him by her side.

Setting the record straight, the couple appeared on “The Preachers”, a new faith-based talk show featuring some of the most prominent preachers in the United States, where they revealed who actually brought up the idea of an open marriage.

“When we first came out with it, people said, ‘Oh my God, how could Mo’Nique let that man do that to her?'” the actress said of her critics. “It was my idea. I wanted to be open and honest with the person I was going to spend the rest of my life with.”
