Blended, the new Adam Sander / Drew Barrymore comedy (their third!) hits theatres on May 23rd. The premise: a single dad and a single mom find themselves stuck together at a family resort. As their mutual attraction grows, their kids begin reaping the benefits of this budding relationship.
With subject matter like that, how could Adam and Drew not discuss children when sitting down with us to promote the film? Some highlights:
“I am not looking forward to that,”; Adams says about the prospect of his own kids dating some day. “I don’t want them to date. I don’t even like them going to another kid’s house and saying they had a good time.”;
“No, you only have fun with me!”; he adds, laughing.
Drew, who recently gave birth to her second child, Frankie, has a similar outlook. “I don’t want my kids to date either,”; she admits. “I can’t handle it. No one’s good enough.”;
That said, Drew has no issue with her older child — 19-month-old Olive, taking on the role of doting big sister.
“She’s so cute with [Frankie], it’s ideal,”; she says. “She’s so into her, she just wants to play with her. She knows she has a sister, she loves her, it’s really good right now.”;
