A “memorial” mural of Taylor Swift has been added to Melbourne’s famous graffiti alley Hosier Lane.

The mural, created by Melbourne graffiti artist Lushsux, who features in Banksy’s Dismaland amusement park installation, was painted in response to Swift’s image that seems to have been tarnished in the wake of Kim Kardashian’s revealing Snapchat story.

While Swift had originally denied approving the lyrics to Kanye West’s song “Famous”, Kardashian’s recording of her husband’s phone call with the pop star proved otherwise and, as a result, the #KimExposedTaylorSwiftParty hashtag was born.

Lushsux seems to be 100 per cent team Kimye, asking passersby for no hashtags and to please respect the dead. He uploaded a picture of the mural to his Instagram with the caption: “The recent passing of @taylorswift is heart-wrenching. Come and leave some flowers and light some candles at her memorial in Hosier lane in honour of her memory. If you do, please DM photos of you doing it.”

Within hours of the mural’s creation, however, somebody painted over it to transform the TSwift memorial into an apparently tongue-in-cheek tribute to Harambe the Gorilla, killed after a child fell into its enclosure at the Cincinnati Zoo.
