The last time Halle Berry appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the prankster host scared her half to death by making her confront her fear of spiders on the air.
In today’s appearance on the show, the X-Men: Days of Future Past star is understandably apprehensive, but Ellen promises no scary shenanigans this time out (although she does show a clip of what happened last time).
Instead, Halle discusses getting married and becoming a new mom in her late 40s, something which she thought would never happen to her. “Two things that I swore I would never ever do again in life,”; she says. “I mean, I didn’t think it was possible to have another baby and I thought for sure I had a need never to get married again. So, I’ve learned never to say never.”;
Getting pregnant with son Maceo (now seven months old), she admits, was something of a shocker. “They call it a geriatric pregnancy,”; she says, joking that the unfortunate terminology “was heartbreaking. I was, you know, on my way — this is probably way TMI — but I was really, you know, kinda pre-menopausal, so to have this happen was a huge [shock].”;
Berry, who is also mom to a six-year-old daughter, also reveals the the differences between nursing a boy as opposed to a girl. “When I would put Nahla on the boob, she would [have] a nice little girly suck,”; Halle tells Ellen, “Him,”; she adds while making a sucking face, “he’s like sucking the life out of me!”;
