Dennis Rodman has reportedly been named a “person of interest” in a hit-and-run investigation.

According to TMZ, the former NBA star was allegedly involved in a car accident in Santa Ana, California early Wednesday morning before fleeing the scene. The reported incident took place on the I-5 freeway shortly after midnight. When the California Highway Patrol responded, they found a smashed BMW and it was reported by someone at the scene that Rodman had been involved.

Police are currently investigating the alleged incident, which claims a witness saw Rodman singing karaoke at a bar before the crash. No charges have since been filed against the athlete and it is unclear if he has met with the police.

A representative for Rodman told TMZ, “We were just notified by the OC police last night and were waiting to talk to Dennis on who may have been in or driving his vehicle at the time of this incident. Dennis will certainly cooperate with authorities and allow them to inspect his vehicle for damages as well if these accusations are accurate.”

Rodman was previously arrested for a DUI in 1999 and again in 2003. He pleaded “guilty” to the first case and “no contest” in the second, which left him with 30 days of home detention.
The former basketball player has been open about his struggles with alcoholism in the past and went to rehab in 2014.
